Grand Holland Day
Utrecht, Gouda, Kinderdijk and Rotterdam (or Dordrecht) in one grand private day across Holland. 10 hours, per vehicle including 9% VAT.
The route
1. Utrecht canals± 90 min
Utrecht has a two-level canal system: the Oudegracht with wharf cellars that now hold cafés and shops at water level. The Dom Tower is 112 metres high and the tallest church tower in the Netherlands. The centre is lively and largely car-free.
2. Gouda old town± 90 min
Gouda is famous for its cheese. On Thursdays from April to August there is a traditional cheese market on the Markt square, in front of the 15th-century town hall. The city also has the Sint-Janskerk with its stained-glass windows and the weigh house with a small cheese museum.
3. Kinderdijk windmills± 105 min
Kinderdijk has nineteen windmills from around 1740, built to pump water from the polder. The area is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. You can walk or cycle along the mills, visit two museum mills and take a boat tour on the canal. Your chauffeur waits at the visitor centre while you explore.
4. Rotterdam or Dordrecht± 90 min
Rotterdam was rebuilt after the war and is known for modern architecture: the Markthal, the Cube Houses, the Erasmus Bridge and the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen. The chauffeur drives you past the main sights with short stops.

What you will see

Practical information
Utrecht canals
The wharf level is reached by stairs; there is no lift at most spots. The Dom Tower can only be climbed with a guided tour. The centre is compact and easy to walk.
Gouda old town
The cheese market takes place on Thursday mornings (April–August). On other days the Markt and the weigh house are still worth a visit. The centre is flat and compact.
Kinderdijk windmills
The mill paths are flat and partly paved; count on 1 to 2 kilometres of walking. The boat tour and museum mills require a ticket (optional add-on). It can be windy on the dikes, so bring a jacket.
Rotterdam or Dordrecht
The city sights are spread out, which is why we see them by car with short stops. The Markthal is open daily; the Cube Houses can be viewed from outside.
