    The route

    1. 1. Gouda old town± 90 min

Gouda is famous for its cheese. On Thursdays from April to August there is a traditional cheese market on the Markt square, in front of the 15th-century town hall. The city also has the Sint-Janskerk with its stained-glass windows and the weigh house with a small cheese museum.

    2. 2. Castle De Haar± 150 min

Castle De Haar near Utrecht is the largest castle in the Netherlands, rebuilt in neo-Gothic style around 1900 by architect Pierre Cuypers. The castle has a park with gardens, a deer park and a maze. Inside you can see the historic rooms with a ticket.

    3. 3. Utrecht canals± 90 min

Utrecht has a two-level canal system: the Oudegracht with wharf cellars that now hold cafés and shops at water level. The Dom Tower is 112 metres high and the tallest church tower in the Netherlands. The centre is lively and largely car-free.
