Taxi to Ahoy, RAI or Efteling
A taxi to Ahoy, RAI or Efteling is particularly practical for a group, luggage or a late finish. Compare the total vehicle price with the current public-transport journey from your address; a taxi is not automatically cheaper for a solo traveller.

Short answer
For a concert at Rotterdam Ahoy, a fair or show at RAI Amsterdam or a day at the Efteling, a pre-booked taxi (van) is most useful when you travel as a group, return late or want to avoid parking. You pay one fixed price for the whole vehicle, so the more people, the lower the price per person. There is no night, rush-hour or weekend surcharge: a ride at 00:30 after a concert costs the same as during the day.
Taxi or train as a group?
To be honest: alone or as a couple the train is usually cheaper. The gap closes as the group grows, because you share the whole ride. With a full taxi van you travel door to door for a per-person amount that can come close to a train ticket, without transfers and with a guaranteed seat. Calculate your trip in the calculator and divide by the number of people.
Rotterdam Ahoy, RAI Amsterdam and the Efteling
Ahoy gets busy around big concerts; a taxi drops you near the entrance and you agree a pickup time for the way back. The RAI hosts fairs and congresses all year; a van brings your whole team at once, and a stop on the way to Schiphol is included in the price. The Efteling in Kaatsheuvel is harder to reach by public transport; with children and bags a van from door to park entrance is often the most relaxed option.
Book smart
Book in advance, choose the right vehicle (car up to 4, estate up to 4 with extra luggage, van up to 7, Bus XL for 8), plan the return straight away and pay online at a fixed price. See also group transport for up to 8 people.
